They’ve managed to keep his brother’s weakness secret for now, but Papyrus dreads the day when someone finally dares to cross him to kill his brother. Papyrus acted quickly, placing Sans under his direct supervision and making it clear that he was the only one allowed to mess with his brother. The exhaustion of constantly working to support both of them had finally caught up to him, and was damaging his HoPe. Shortly after he became captain of the Snowdin unit, Papyrus noticed that his brother was not doing well. Snowdin slowly began to shift, with at least some of the populace grudgingly trusting Papyrus to not hurt them unless they broke the laws. His reputation for being fair originally marked him as a target, but Papyrus proved himself too strong, and the populace were forced to accept him.
